During the 2008 calendar year, The National Scholars Honor Society has granted over $509,000 in scholarships and membership fee waivers. We hope to greatly increase this number as the year continues.

The National Scholars Honor Society is proud to grant scholarships to highly qualified achievers. Please take note:

SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION IS HIGHLY COMPETITIVE.

MOST MEMBERS DO NOT RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS.

Scholarship eligibility is determined for each new applicant at the time of acceptance, and is reviewed each academic year for as long as the member continues to update his file on an annual basis. Members may update their files at any time. Each member is responsible for updating his file to remain in the scholarship eligibility pool, but annual updates are not required to maintain membership in the society. Members may update their files by standard mail or by the Online Update Form. Recommended update information includes current and cumulative GPA, any awards, honors, memberships, personal attributes, experiences, or accomplishments that have changed since the initial application was filed.

All scholarship funds are reserved for Honor Society members.  Non-members are not eligible to receive any portion of the scholarship funds. The total number and amounts of scholarships granted are dependant upon the total funds available to The National Scholars Honor Society each academic year, and will be determined by the board of directors during regular meetings. Scholarships are distributed directly to the recipient members in the form of stipend checks and may be subject to State or Federal taxation as reportable income. Scholarships are funded by membership fees. No State or Federal funds are used to support the scholarship program.
